Rear Admiral David F. Baucom resides in the Washington, DC metropolitan area where he serves in the United States Navy. A member of The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), RADM David Baucom expects to transition into the civilian sector in October of 2016.
Among upcoming educational workshops available to MOAA members is the Military Executives in Transition Seminar. The fall event takes place on November 15, 2016 and caters to senior officers who plan to convert to the civilian sector following their service. Only 50 attendees may sign up for the session.
The seminar will include discussion on the psychology of transitioning into civilian life. It will offer tips for effective networking, share ideas for finding a good mentor, educate attendees on using recruiters wisely, and provide strategies for achieving early success in a civilian profession. The workshop fee also gives senior officers access to career services ranging from interview preparation to resume creation. Further helping attendees increase their odds of success in their post-military lives, the MOAA has coordinated a post-seminar session with a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) for all participants.
