A Navy rear admiral based in Washington, DC, David F. Baucom has served his country since 1981. Over the course of his career in the Navy, RADM David Baucom maintained memberships in several organizations, including the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).

In a recently released statement, MOAA announced that the Democracy Fund has presented it with a $218,300 grant to support a new project launched by the Military Family Initiative (MFI), a subsidiary of MOAA. The Military Voter Education Project is a one-year education initiative that aims to connect active-duty service members and their families with the information and resources needed to become more engaged in the voting process.

With the financial support from the Democracy Fund, the Military Voter Education Project will specifically focus on educating active-duty military families about absentee voting, making them aware of important deadlines and other requirements. In doing so, the project will help ensure the voices of these families are heard in national, state, and local elections.
