The director of strategy, capabilities, policy and logistics for the U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Rear Admiral David Baucom oversees the Department of Defense transportation supply chain requirements.Over the course of his 35‐year career with the U.S. Navy, he has filled a number of positions, ranging from the director of the U.S. Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center to a White House military aide for Pres. Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan, among others. An expert in supply chain management and value chain creation, RADM David F. Baucom earned a master’s degree in acquisition and contract management from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Additionally, Rear Admiral David F. Baucom earned a degree in industrial management at Auburn University, where he also studied personnel and industrial relations. He holds a master’s degree in national resource strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy at the National Defense University as well.
RADM Baucom has served in leadership roles on the USS Edward McDonnell, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, and the maiden voyage of the USS Ronald Reagan.
